Donna Merrell

Evolution of a Memory
October 25th - November 19th

Donna Merrell is a painter working in acrylics and mixed media collage. Her practice moves between abstract intuitive painting and figurative abstraction. She has a deep fascination for the female figure, organic shapes, and the quiet poetry of flowers and plants.

Guided by a process of layering and experimentation, her works often emerge from instinct rather than plan, allowing images to surface and dissolve within fields of texture and color. Collage plays an important role in her practice, adding fragments that cover or reveal — echoing the way identity is shaped by what is remembered, buried or transformed.

Her paintings often blend human and natural forms, celebrating cycle of life and death, resilience and interconnectedness. She invites viewers into a dialogue that is open-ended and personal, encouraging them to recognize parts of themselves in the shifting figures, the curves of the body, and the shapes of plants and flowers.

She lives and works in Clinton, MA sharing her evolving journey through painting as both a means of self-discovery and connection with others. You can find her on Instagram
